Office Hours

Office appointments are available Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm. The office is closed on weekends and holidays.  If you have an emergent health care issue after normal business hours, please call our main number and the call will be forwarded to our answering service. In the event of a life threatening emergency call 911 or go to the nearest hospital. Please call the office during normal business hours for appointments, prescriptions, and general health questions.

Contacting Us

Due to the volume of calls in the practice we have an automated phone system - please listen carefully and choose the most appropriate selection. If you get voice mail please leave your name (spell your name), date of birth, phone number, and a brief description of your reason for calling. We make very effort to return you call as soon as possible - if you have a medical emergency do not leave a message, choose the emergency line option.

Nurses Line

This line is to discuss medical issues with the nurses that cannot wait until your next appointment. From your discussion the nurses will evaluate your situation and determine if you need to see one of the providers and will forward your call to scheduling to arrange for that visit.

Prescription Refill Line

Please remember to ask your provider when you are in the office for any prescription refills that you might need.

If you need a refill before visits choose our prescription line. Please call at least two days before you need the refill so that we have ample time to process the request. If you have to leave a message about a prescription refill we need the medication name/dosage, pharmacy name/number, and your personal information. Leave only refill information on this line - new prescriptions need to be initiated by your physician.

Scheduling Appointments

If you need to schedule, cancel, or change an appointment choose the scheduler option for your physician (urgent appointments need to go through our nurses line). You may also use this line for miscellaneous administrative issues (leaving a brief message for your physician and general questions). If we need to cancel and reschedule your appointment - the office will either call you or send you a letter notifying you to call the office. We apologize for any inconvenience these situations may cause you and will try our best to accommodate your schedule.

Test Results

Results of your Pap smear will be sent to your home address by mail in approximately three weeks - please call our office if you do not receive your results within that time frame.

Lab (blood) results are usually available within 24 hours - the Medical Assistant will let you know if your test might take longer to process. If you are due back in the office shortly after your lab work the physician will review the results with you then. Please choose the prescription and test result line from the main menu when calling.

Results of procedures such as biopsies and colposcopies are generally available within 7-10 days. You will be notified by your provider of the results - if you do not receive a call within ten day please choose the nurses' line when calling.

Billing

We have a separate office that processes the billing for our providers - if you have questions regarding an invoice from New England OB/GYN Associates please call 1-800-769-4278. All lab work and other testing (pap smear, biopsy, etc.) is sent to an outside facility for processing and your insurance company is billed separately for that service. If you receive a statement from them (Quest, Brigham and Women's, etc.) call the number on that invoice.

Copies of Medical Records & Completion of Disability Forms

Federal and state regulations require that we have your written permission to release copies of your medical records (please see Notice of Privacy Statement). Please ask for the appropriate form when you are at the office or call and choose the medical records option. Depending on your request a fee may be charged - allow 7 business days for processing the copies or completion of disability forms.

Patient Satisfaction

It is our intent to do everything possible to exceed your expectations - please provide us with your feedback and let us know how we are doing by completing a customer satisfaction form at our reception desk.
