Lactation Counseling

We offer in-office lactation counseling and support with Nurse Practitioner, Jen Harper MSN, NP-C, WHNP-BC. Jen Harper, NP completed training as a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). According to the ALPP (Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice) CLC credentialing signifies demonstration of the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide breastfeeding counseling and management support to families who are thinking about breastfeeding or who have questions or problems during the course of breastfeeding/lactation.

We are happy to provide support during the post partum period and breastfeeding process and invite you to contact our office to schedule an appointment with Jen Harper, NP, CLC.

Endocrinology

Endocrinology care provided by Dr. Susan Haden.  Dr. Haden is available by appointment on Monday and Thursday.

  • Preconception counseling for patients with Type 2 diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome both hypo and hyperthyroidism thyroid disease, Abnormalities with calcium disorders and adrenal insufficiency. Medical endocrine causes for infertility irregular menstruation, amenorrhea will be treated in collaboration with your OBGYN.
  • During pregnancy abnormal thyroid, glucose, calcium and other hormonal laboratory results will be addressed. Intensive diabetes care with Nutrition and nursing support is available. Goals are to reduce needs for cesarean sections and large babies.
  • Postpartum prevention of the onset of Type 2 Diabetes in patients diagnosed with gestational diabetes is a major goal. Emphasis on Nutrition and activity will be major focuses.
  • Close monitoring of preexisting and pregnancy induced thyroid abnormalities as well as postpartum causes will be addressed and managed so that new mothers can enjoy their new families.

Medical endocrine causes for abnormal lactation will be evaluated.  Follow up care of pre-existing endocrine conditions. Evaluation of skeletal bone health in a woman’s reproductive years.

Ultrasound

In-office ultrasounds performed by Diagnostic Ultrasound Associates are available for obstetrical patients. Your physician will discuss with you when ultrasounds may be necessary throughout your pregnancy and will be scheduled accordingly.
